Small Business: Papermetal

This week I had the pleasure of spending some time with Julie Bailey, otherwise known as the designer, creator and all round fabulous lady of Papermetal.

Papermetal is a small jewellery business, run from Julie's home in Lincolnshire. Selling through galleries, online, and made-to-order private clients, you can see every piece of Julie's work is made with the passion, care and attention that you'd expect from such a talented designer.

With a big designers show coming up in London, Julie was having some press shots done and also gave me a sneak preview of the new range she's currently designing; in addition to her current range, Julie's now creating a more unisex design, with darker metals and more masculine patterns, to really contrast against her current, feminine-focused collection.

The thing I love about all Julie's work is the quality and the simplicity. The pieces are unique and simple, whilst still managing to make a statement, without being too 'in your face'. These pieces could easily be worn for a special occasion or even on a daily basis, they're so versatile its unreal.

I already have a couple of pieces, but my absolute favourite piece is the top of my Wish List! Normally I'm not bothered about bigger rings, but the Cigar Band, is to die for! It isn't huge by any stretch and it actually comes in three width options, so if you're more of a small ring kinda gal, you can still snap up this one. There's also a second edition to this, which you can find here. Its an added bonus that she uses a lot of copper tones, which I seem to be crushing over at the minute, from jewellery to kitchen appliances!

In addition to her jewellery design, Julie is also a fine art printmaker and landscaper. Check out her website here or go follow Papermetal on Instagram
