WE BOUGHT A HOUSE

So just six days ago I did a post about saving for your first home and talked about how we'd been for our first mortgage meeting and it was all very scary and exciting... well! Three days later we went and viewed a bunch of houses, and four days later we'd had an offer accepted! Amazing!

It's difficult being in York because its so expensive to live anywhere, let alone anywhere relatively close to the city centre, which is what we need at the minute due to work, so we were looking a little outside with the pretence of driving in to work or getting the bus. This is one of the first houses we saw online, perfect location, nice area, beautiful house, brand new kitchen, just perfect. But it looked a little small and it was by the river so flooding was a cause for concern (if you know York, you'll know how often it floods!). But boy, did it deliver when we viewed it!

There isn't much more I can really say on the matter, except, WE'RE SO BLOODY EXCITED!! With it being the Easter weekend its a crappy time to have done it purely because nothing can get going until Tuesday and we can't sort any solicitors or anything until then. But whats better than an Easter egg? A house. Our first home.

If you asked me if I expected to have a mortgage and my own home at the age of twenty-two, I would have laughed in your face. But somehow we've managed to do it. Now fingers crossed everything goes well with it and we get in soon!
