Event City
The first main reason for our weekend away was for Brad's Christmas present - Robot Wars! Contrary to popular belief, I do quite enjoy watching Robot Wars, so it was fun seeing all the robots in real life and just being a kid again.
Unlike York, Manchester has so much to offer in terms of events, we went to see this and there were countless other things on, including Ed Sheeran. If you're planning on a weekend in Manchester then definitely look up what events are on at the same time.
Salvi's
Hands down, one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to. From the decor, to the service and the food, everything was just spot on! I'm never usually a fan of sharing platters but with all these meats and cheeses, I couldn't resist and boy did it deliver! I've been craving another ever since. This place is in the Corn Exchange, just across from the Printworks, so its right in the middle of the action and close by for cocktails afterwards!
iFly Indoor Skydiving
The biggie. Brad bought me this for Christmas, to which I then bought my sister it for her birthday and my sister and I bought it for my mum and her partner, so it was a proper little family affair! Anyway, I was absolutely terrified because I hate heights, speed, anything like that. I don't do rides at all and I thought this was going to be even worse, at least with a ride you're strapped in... our instructor was fantastic though, he was so understanding and helpful and it really was an amazing experience... weird... but amazing. I can't describe it but if you're looking for something fun and a bit different then I would definitely recommend it!
