2017 In Review

Such a generic post for pretty much every blogger in the universe, but nevertheless, its always nice to look back on the year before starting a new one. 2017 has been a mixture of things for me, but mostly good!

We bought a house
Probably the biggest achievement to date, let alone this year! I’m so, so proud of Brad and I for buying our first house at the ages of 22 and 25. Genuinely, I never thought I’d be able to afford a house in my twenties at all! Making our house a home has been some of the most exciting, yet stressful, times and I can’t wait to keep making it our own.

Brad started Bailey Wedding Films… and employed me
And what a first year its been for us! I can’t take any credit, as Brad does all the hard work, I just second shoot for him, but its been an exciting experience working together and finally putting my degree to use too.

We visited Paris and Amsterdam
The past two years I had big trips across the globe with my sister, so it was time to do some exploring with Brad. It’s the first year we haven’t been to Ibiza (still v.v. sad about this), so we thought we’d explore Europe. I’d never been to Amsterdam so that was amazing to finally see. Paris was a surprise for Brad’s 25th, so obviously we went to Disneyland too and it was the best day ever. Who knows what adventures 2018 is going to bring!

I got a PT
I’ve mentioned this before but in August I took the plunge and got myself a Personal Trainer. I’m not overweight and I’m not completely unfit, but I wasn’t happy with my body and I wasn’t clued up enough to do anything about it properly myself. I can honestly say this is one of the best decisions I made this year. Lauren is an absolute joy to work with and she makes me feel 10x what I used to feel. There’s still a long, long way to go but I feel stronger, fitter, healthier and happier already.

I got v v into cooking and baking!
Something I never thought I’d be bothered about, but I’ve fallen in love with cooking and baking. I wouldn’t say I’m a chef, lets not push it, but I enjoy making meals from scratch (generally…) and knowing that I’m capable of making something so tasty! With Brad being away recently I’ve barely cooked (I’m useless at cooking for one) so I’m looking forward to getting back into it.

I tried my hand at crafting and furniture upcycling
Never in my life have I been any good at craft and making things, but 2017 saw me trying my hand at some DIY bits. Much like the cooking, I’m not a crafter, I’m not exactly going to be selling on Etsy anytime soon, but its nice to see something in my home that I made myself rather than buying from a shop.
Furniture upcycling was something that I absolutely loved to do! I never expected to enjoy it and never really saw the point, but upcycling something really does give it a whole new lease of life.

2017 wasn’t full of enormous life changing things (except one) or round the world trips... it was a year of the little things in life. Learning what I enjoy and things that I'm good at and really getting to know myself. I’m excited to see what 2018 brings. Things I never thought would happen happened this year, so who knows what might happen next year.

I hope you wonderful lot have a fabulous New Year whilst I slave away at work until stupid o’clock… I’ll see you in 2018.
